Practising how to write an Explanation writing - by Augustine

Practising how to write an Explanation writing

W.A.L.T: Use the correct structure for the purpose of writing on Explanation.

Why is having electricity in our house important?

Electricity plays in an important role in keeping our homes warm, lights lit, and technology powered making our life easy.

Electricity is very Important in our homes because it runs our T.v and Games. We use the television to watch the news to see if any new updates are happening around the globe. Watching t.v also educates people, by watching the news, sports or the cooking shows. We also use the t.v to play our games - x box, PS4. Playing Games and watching t.v entertains people. This makes our life easy.

One of the reasons why electricity is important because it powers our lights in our houses. We use lights to see in the dark. Without lights at night you can't see a thing, and you might injure yourself and it will hurt badly. Thats why we need lights in our houses to make sure that we are safe and can see in the dark.

Another reason why we need electricity is because it keeps our food warm/cold. Electricity turns our oven and refrigerator on, without electricity our milks will become warm and our cooked food would remain raw. That is why electricity is important because it keeps our food fresh or cooked and healthy to eat.

Electricity is also important to us because it keeps our homes warm or cool. Like for example, if you have a heat pump when we come home and it is hot you can come in feeling the cool air. When it is cold, you can do inside feeling the warm air because the electricity powers the heat pump. Electricity powers  our heat pumps to keep our our homes nice and cool or warm and toasty. This makes our lives more comfortable.

There are so many other reasons why electricity helps us in our homes, like it helps us wash our clothes, runs our hot water and more. Without electricity we would have to make fire to warm ourselves and use lamps or candles for lights. We also have to wait for a newspaper to arrive to give you news from around the globe That is why we as people need to use electricity in our homes to make our lives very easy.

The tree hut treaty - by Augustine

5/2/19

L.I.. Respond to “The Tree Hut Treaty” by explaining.
By Wiremu Grace.

The Tree Hut Treaty

The new neighbours:
Today we heard the story about the “Tree Hut Treaty”. In the story some new neighbours came over to the house next to two children. Their names were Tia and Manaia. Over their fence they saw two kids that hopped off the car. Later Tia and Manaia rode their bikes. Then the two kids for the new house greeted them. They said their names were Crystal and Jack. Manaia asked if they had bikes.

Visit around the new hood:
Manaia and Tia showed The two new kids around their new town. They saw children sledding down the grassy hill in a hot, sunny day. Then they stopped and lied under a tree. Jack thought and told if the can build a tree hut top of the tree.

The new hut:
Tia, Manaia, Jack and Crystal  asked their parents to help them build up a
Tree hut. So the four parents agreed. Then the hut as finished .

A Bad Argument:
Soon everybody around the hood came into the hut. But Manaia thought it was crowded. So he tried to extend it by knocking of the wood. Jack was angry. The four friends started arguing. Then, without anyone know, Jack hid the ladder and said to himself no one will ever enter the hut.

The Treaty:
Soon Manaia heard and told Jack and Crystal about Waitangi day. So she made a rule about the hut. So everyone agreed to the rule. Then it was back to being friendly again.

The newest neighbours:
Across the road a new neighbour arrived to the new sold house. Two kids ran and saw the hut. Then they played in the hut. Finally the kids in the house played together every day.

At the end of the story I felt like that the kids will play forever because if they have the treaty rule then all of the problems will be solved, and if that does not work, the parents are also there to help them.
