My relaxing time with my grandparents - by Augustine

Learning Intention: W.A.L.T. write a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can write a recount using capital letters, full stops and in paragraph correctly.

During the weekends I stayed over with my grandparents at Mangere to keep them company.

In the morning we change and waited for a taxi to take us to the shopping centre. First, we bought some fish for Sunday lunch. Next we bought some more fish & chips from the takeaway shop. Then we went home and ate the food.

Later I played cards with my grandma for a few minutes. Then I went to change and watched t.v. Finally my parents came to pick me up the other day. It was a relaxing weekend with my grandparents.

Warsaw the Dragon and the brave knight - by Augustine

Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can write my fantasy story using describing words.

Once upon a time, in a beautiful tree filled forests, lived and enormous, bright green, purple breathing dragon named Warsaw. He is lonely because he has no friends. People think he was scary. Nobody even seen the dragon.

One day a brave knight found Warsaw and he was terrified. Then the brave knight ran away. But then he stopped and looked behind. Warsaw wasn't chasing him. The brave knight went back to the dragon. He saw that the dragon was nice because of the way he act.
When the brave knight saw how kind Warsaw was he took him to his kingdom. Everybody was scared at first but they became friends with Warsaw. They decided to take him to war. Warsaw survived and he lived happly ever after.

Do we need to celebrate Mission day?

I agree that we need to celebrate Mission Day because we raise fund to an orphanage called "The Holy Angels" in India. Every class at our school discuss what activity will they'll be running like face painting, book sale, karaoke, and selling lollies, drinks and food. Before we start our fun day we go to church. Then we can start Mission day.

On Mission day we can wear any clothes which we call mufti. We also pay money for raffles. We can choose a prize and at the end of the day we could be lucky enough to win a prize. Finally the teachers will send the money to the person who is in charge. Then he or she will give the money to the orphanage.

We need to celebrate Mission day because we have fun and fund raise money to the orphanage.

"Volcano" - by Augustine

"Volcano"

Steps how to make a "volcano".

First cover the table with newspapers.

Second tape or glue the coke bottle on a box.

Next cut a cardboard into 5 strips.

After that tape the 5 strips of cardboard in an angle on the coke bottle.

Next rip small pieces of newspaper and then glue it around the cardboard then leave to dry.

After that, paint the newspaper green and leave to dry. 

Next paint it again using brown over the green but leave some green spaces.

Lastly you can draw trees and grass on the volcano.
